The countenance of the earth and the face of that shocked observer, both contort. I hope for the later it is because of the realization of what has been going on. This is one of your finest verses, Valsa.

i feel with this poem, valsa. and as you seem to suggest, the most depressing scenes of filth and waste are in our cities. i don't know what else to say except to acknowledge this reality. before it i don't know how else to pray except, Your kindgom come, Your will be done. and i try to have a small footprint. -glen

One of the saddest stories of humankind is how ungrareful towards nature we are. The same Nature, that like a loving mother helps us grow and reach our full potential is murdered by us. A well crafted poem ma'am. Tganks for sharing.

Well said Valsa. It is appalling when we think and see environment around being destroyed so ruthlessly.

Thank you for this poem... we need to somehow wake the totality of mankind to the danger this planet lies in. Our grandchildren may very well not have a home anymore- not on planet Earth anyway. Powerful message, powerfully written. A million 10's in tears.

When face of a person appears like a sky this amazes mind. We stand with humanity and greatness ever. Pollution provokes thought. We need pollution free environment. Revisiting your poem values more. This poem is worthy for awareness.

Our earth is having a fever. Reducing human greed through our daily small acts of kindness is perhaps its medicine. Another thought provoking poem. Well done!

May we live to see the oceans finally cleaned (as those enormous pumps already are doing a great job) , and forests deforested replaced by new trees planted, and the plastic finally decomposed by those worms created in the laboratories. A great poem on the Environmental Day!

It is deplorable. No one considers generations to come. The Earth can heal its self given time; but we keep insulting it.
