Agree with Christopher Savin, silence can be either good or bad. It can be a show of strength or weakness. Hidden secrets or nothing to declare. Typically good poem from you.

I like the begining, 'Say not a word, For silence is golden, ' fortunately for me though, I seem to have decided on the answer to the last line. for that decision you'll have to read my poem, 'Buddy' which hopefully will reveal some needed truth on the matter. -nkuli

What a good write. Yes it can be a curse to speak out - but to keep it all in is a curse too... so long as it does not do harm - especially to oneself, I think get as much out as possible. The miracle may be found in all those songs & poems out there :)

Silence some times can say far more than words. Very well put, and an excellent theme. Tango.

Silence is action in inaction. One cannot remain silent, as his or her mental stream always runs in thoughts, good or bad. Sometime silence means acceptance. A wonderful theme you have taken for this poem.

Great topic to address...personallly I think it's a miracle because when the mouth is quiet the mind thinks clearly. Good poem Kim. Cheers!

A wonderful write. I can relate so well. The silence protects us when we are children, but becomes a curse, not truly letting us move on. It is finding our voice that frees us as adults. Shattering the silence...dissipating the shame...

I really enjoyed the duality of this poem. Silence being golden, a positive, but at the same time it is the herald of a wounded heart afraid of being hurt or exposed again.

This poem is really nice as it raises a good question of silence being a miracle or a curse. It all depends on perspective I think and how one takes the experiences in life since it is said that solitude is what builds the character of a being.

The solitude of repressed emotion... Shh silence..The very silence that can eat away at us internally, yet offer us control over what is heard.. Sometimes if it is quiet enough.. the silence seems to sing.. Amazin' work Poetess..
