Miracle Poem by Silence Dogood

Miracle

Her shoulders were shaking.
She couldn't even drive.
Hard to find air.
Is this her goodbye.

We rushed to the hospital.
Completly unsure.
For her lung cancer.
There wasn't a cure.

Today was the day.
I could chase my dream.
But with my mom so sick.
I wasn't able to leave.

I was afraid.
That today was the day.
When the cancer will take.
What I love away.

Tears dripped down my cheeks.
For all hope was gone.
It was only a month ago.
When it all went wrong.

The doctors persuaded.
And convinced me to go.
I rocked my audition.
I wish she could know.

But a mircacle happened.
Because my mom wouldn't die.
It wasn't lung cancer.
No need for goodbye.

Instead it was an illness.
A virus called TB.
Who seemed like cancer.
But was only a disease.

Hope was restored.
I smiled for the first time.
Since that one day.
When we were told she would die.

Happyness filled me.
All the way to the brim.
My mom would be here.
To see the music within.

My dreams came true.
Every single one.
My mom was cured.
We could have fun.
