Mine Again. Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Mine Again.

Hidden promises,
A new touch to these untainted surfaces.

As much as I want to let go.
I hold on silently and this I know.

I wish you would say sorry.
All I think is definitely.

I keep showing you maybe.
I know it tarnishes your honesty.

I don't mean to cause you pain.
I feel the same.

I can't bring the courage to fight.
When I extend my hand and you are out of sight.

Can we please fix everything?
So that we can be something.

Losing you is something I have imagined.
Yet it is not something I would ever want to say has happened.

Turn around,
I am right here standing on the same ground.
