Loved these lines: 'The hells we have lived through and live through still, Have sharpened our senses and toughened our will.' Maya is the name of an inspiration. Congratulations!

This poem is a history; History of deep wounds; Where humanity repeatedly embraces the death Described here are about the oppressed people who were human beings but were not considered as human beings They have not been able to become independent under the rule of racists even though they have spent billions of moments to assert their rights

What can i say. Thats my mother who crossed the Atlantic and left me in a beautiful dark continent full of foreign induced calamity. It doesnt matter what people say we continue to rise and write poems righting the wrongs of the past. Beautiful poem/song from a beautiful woman. I clap my hands for her.

The hells we have lived through and live through still, Have sharpened our senses and toughened our will. I find this line quite epigrammatic, and philosophical. The depth of this poem makes you nauseous.

What a beautiful quatrain used as a refrain repeated a couple of times. And how nicely the poem ends with a hopeful sentiment. Lovely.

A marcher forever looking over your shoulder toward the ever-receding past will never see your destination and the present possibilities will always be missed.
