People! People! People! When are you going to stop picking on the poor Millennials? Every generation has their share of problems. My generation (Baby Boomers) went through the psychedelic era. Drugs were running rampant even in the strictest of high schools. And the vast majority of us did not turn out to be addicts. We survived and became productive members of society. Same holds true for the Millennials. Mark my words. That being said, I still thoroughly enjoyed the poem. Because I was looking at it from a lighter perspective. Well written with good insight. Congratulations on Poem Of The Day.

So true of a generation weaned on lack of commitment. Rhyme scheme imposed order on fickleness.

Howe and Strauss define the Millennial cohort as consisting of individuals born between 1982 and 2004. My eldest granddaughter was born in the year 1995 and my grandson was born in 2004. So my entire third generation consists of Millennial and they all are addicts of cell phones that are no more phones, may be a computer, a camera or anything else but the basic purpose of the cell phones if not dead is at least dormant. Your great poem touched my heart. Now let me complete the formality by congratulating you though for a thinker like you it's at all not important.

Poets know what poets know, And better say it, Than long stretched books Where confusing winds Do blow! This is an EXCELLENT poem! So well written, . In a few stanzas the poet summaries the essence and history of a whole generation. Sad but true that the educational system and politics have created a destroyed youth with no ideals, nor ambitions except button pushing, and which will not take our country forward. What a waste, what a pity. But decadence is that way and we allowed it to be done. Non the less, Congratulations and thank you, Mr. Ray Lucero, a great poet to remember.

Observing current scenario the poet has deeply observed modern students in schools and this really provokes thought. This has given wonderful explanation about students why they get frustration. Fast food full of sodium has spoiled health. Technological interactions have diverted minds. By 18 they are enslaved by student loans. Being graduated they are coming back to home and there is stress among them. Education system needs evolution. Poet gives wonderful message through expression for awareness. An amazing poem is shared here...10
