A very good photo to go with the poem of reminiscence. I think that 'high and tight' is the same as the New Zealand 'short back and sides', a conservative style which is still quite common among men. 'White hair fell away'- I notice that too now whenever I have a haircut. A profoundly interesting poem to me.

If you go to a new barber shop with two barbers, and both are available, and one has a bad haircut and the other has a good haircut, which one should you let cut your hair?
In most, you take a number and wait your turn and then end up with a bad haircut.
Very nice, Hank! In 1976 I was teaching at North Davis Junior High School, right next to Hill Air Force Base. One of my students was the son of the general who was in charge of the base. He thought he could get away with anything because of who his dad was. He soon found out he couldn't.
So, does the shop sell your poems or polish the front widows with them. Ah, memories! some not so good, but, thankfully, you have some good ones i guess. And if one of those wives was yours, you two are nearly at the 50 year mark! ! thanks for sharing. bri :)
