Miguel Poem by Kayla Solano

Miguel

You were my first true love
We got married under the strangest of circumstances, when we were both teenagers
It felt so right
And then it all went down the drain
We should have never married so young
We should have waited until we were older
I was too young to marry you
But, I do not regret any of it
You called me a month ago
Asking my hand in marriage, again
I agreed
Under certain circumstances, again
What I didn't realize, was that I would be in love with you, again
But you don't care if I am here or there
You haven't even told your family that I am your wife
I don't understand
Please, look at me
See what is standing right in front of your face
Before it's too late.
