We are so vulnerable to terrorists - the lives of almost 300 people snuffed out, with no regard for who they were, what they do, who depends on them. Your poem is both a lament for the violence done to humanity but it's also a rallying of the forces of good to join with other good forces in solidarity. I recently read an incomplete last poem by KOFI AWOONOR who was killed in a terrorist attack at a mall in Nairobi in 2013. It cut me to the quick that his poem expressed such joy in life, family and community, that he was such a wonderful, humane person. Was there a man like Kofi Awoonor among those 300 you are lamenting? Of course, there was. There are always kind, good, talented people the world needs who are killed by terrorists. This is sadly a necessary poem you have written.
