Metaphors Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Metaphors

Rating: 5.0

If not nigh sparingly used,
Metaphors might be abused.

Imagine ornaments on a body
Suffocating a nature-born beauty,
Imagine a river in spell,
Flowing above danger level,
Metaphors when poetic lines suppress,
Readers begin to feel the stress.

Figures of speech forge a fine lore,
But seldom if not rare, unheard before,

Yet, all said and done,
There's nothing under this sun
Like simple narrative,
Fresh like anytime nature,
And being most effective,
One that shows a tall stature.

Thank you dear poets: Kumarmani Mahakul, Kostas Lagos, and Reb Bernard FA. Perhaps, a poem should have a balanced contribution from the head and heart. Any comments?
