Merdeka adik Lusiana Deborah. I get it why you used the word 'merdeka' instead of 'freedom' as its equivalent in English. Yes, the English expressions can not really translate the whole meaning of our word 'merdeka', which is deeper and more soulful. On the poem, I also share your sentiment of what the independence really means. Check my version on the August 17 occasion, if you will. Keep the spirit up, merdeka!
