One time when sheaves were gathered.

No false notes here. This is natural, perfectly transparent poetry. What an ear! !

Fantastic poem, although I read it couple of days back but could not write my comments today when it appeared I could not stop from writing about it....Only those who love his father from heart can write such line: I quote: Every old man I see In October-coloured weather Seems to say to me: I was once your father.

Memory of any body's father is touching, it is also from the same angle

Patrick Kavanagh started his poem Memory Of My Father woth these lines: Every old man I see, Reminds me of my father, When he had fallen in love with death....How awfully started and the reader is assured of his un-uttered love for his old father. A mystifying poem but the deep respected attitude and love is there all the time, their relationship was a problem. To his beloved family: Congratulations on being by PH.Com as CPOTD. GBU.

Without saying anything about his father, the poet has expressed his deep feelings and respect for his father.... and persons of older age which he comes across on the way. Thanks.

Haunting images of the special relationship between father and son. There are beautiful interactions of the rhymes.

hey S`upp this is a very interestin`poem, watch out with the title, the word memory not always mean good things that happened in the past : O after readin` it I realized there was sth unclear about the relatioship between Kavanagh and his father. Also try to read IN memory of my mother, where its proved what i just said, because IN MEMORY means a kind of tribute, good feelings towards his mother cya.
