Memories Poem by Silence Dogood

Memories

Just two old woman.
Together at the park.
Taking pictures.
And feeling beautiful.
For one last time.

Siting on the bench.
Posing with the birds.
A bouquet of flowers.
Falling into memories.

Smiles and laughter.
The backroud music.
Wispy grey hair.
Turning back to brown.

Walking with a crane.
Limping through the field.
Frolicking with pleasure.
Dancing in dandilions.

Reminicing in all that once was.
Wrinkling features tightening into smiles.
A memory in the making.
Laughter lighting the eyes.

Snap goes the camera.
An old picture for old friends.
Snap goes the camera.
A new picture for new friends.

Out on the bench.
Siting for a break.
Out on the bench.
Posing for the camera.

Walking back home.
To a life so different.
In a home with a husband.
Who has loved you forever.

Remembering those years.
Spent with a friend.
In the old park.
Posing with a smile never false.

Leaving behind the moments of yesterday.
Waiting for tommorow.
And laughing through today.
Just waiting to remember when they were...

Just two younge girls.
Alone at the park.
Taking pictures.
And feeling beautiful.
For the very first time.
