Melanin Majesty
My skin, a canvas rich and deep,
Holds starlight's kiss, where secrets sleep.
Not a flaw, but sun-kissed pride,
In every shade, a story I confide.
Coarse curls, a crown of midnight's grace,
Woven tight, a regal embrace.
Not untamed, but a wild embrace,
A crown of texture, a lioness's space.
Full lips, that speak with laughter's chime,
Carving stories whispered through time.
Not a burden, but a legacy's hold,
Ancestral strength, bravely retold.
Eyes, like pools reflecting wisdom's gleam,
Reflecting rivers, a flowing dream.
Not vacant, but galaxies hold,
Mysteries untold, yet courage unfolds.
This body, a temple strong and bold,
A vessel carrying stories yet untold.
Not a burden, but a purpose I claim,
Breaking biases, whispering my name.
For in my melanin, beauty resides,
A radiant spirit where confidence confides.
Black and African, a truth I hold dear,
Shattering stereotypes, year after year.
I stand tall, a masterpiece untold,
A story waiting to bravely unfold.
Beyond bias, a beauty defined,
Melanin majesty, forever entwined.
