Meet At School Gate Poem by Felix Emeka George

Meet At School Gate

Rating: 4.0

As I walked along the school gate that day
When I first saw you,
my hearthrob.
My sight struck your face,
You blew my mind instantly.
I was checking you out keenly
With the cornerísh stealth of man-eyes
I ran through you from head to toes
All I saw is an epitome of beauty beautiful damsel
Standing like a rich sapphire statue.
When I beckoned on you, confirmed, we have things in common
You smiled brightly
Showing your gap-in- teeth,
I compared to mine.
On your body,
Swirls of Arabian perfume.
Felting my nose and eyes

Plants of Africans plait
On your head as crowns.
In my head too, common sense
That daring the thought made me a mad man
but my heart sang
A beautiful damsel for me.
You have the good heart of the dove,
When I asked of your cellphone number,
No!
But I told you i am a man and no is not an answer
I tried harder and further
I travelled from the starting of the sun
Till the appearances of the star and moon on sky
You, relaxed and I followed through with love
I can't believe you love me,
I know I love you.
All the way you take me your ideal man
In trust and faith until distance and fate conspired
And you go away
And change allow not our love Promise, pleasure and stay
I can't believe, it now
I think of what we were before.
