Meant To Be Poem by Paul WilsonSuffield

Meant To Be

In the middle of the night there is a dig in my side
The sound of laughter, impossible to hide.
You want to play muck about or talk
If you’re not tired go for a walk.
Next you're hungry or require a drink
And guess who gets it me I think.
These are the things I’m prepared to do
If that’s what it takes to be close to you.
You see there’s something about you that makes me care
Like the touch of your hand or the smell of your hair.
It’s nice to feel welcome when you walk in a home
Or have someone to talk to when you feel alone.
Now don’t be upset by the things that I say
Because you're the one, that turns my night to day.
We are meant to be, as you will see soon
Because you need me like midnight needs the moon.
