Means To An End Comments

It started with a smile, bright, illuminous like the north star.
Ever present given me hope.
We kissed and nothing else in the world mattered but you.
We laughed hard, we played hard and loved even harder.

Wow! Intensely emotional and vibrantly sorrowful depiction of saying goodbye to someone you have loved. Fantastic insight and realization of a very distressful situation, making a decision that's so very difficult, but one that needed to be made to save yourself from the heartache that you knew would come about if you stayed. Very vivid portrayal of having to say goodbye and walking away into the total emptiness without her. Tears showing how hard it was to walk away. Excellent poem, filled with emotional feeling, rhythm backing it up silently like in a movie. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn

It's better to be alone than live with distress in the bliss of love. Love is a spiritual experience that affects us profoundly, it's whimsical and temperamental, coming unannounced and may leave without warning. I like the articulation and insight of the poem. A nice piece of poetry. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.

There is no doubt love hurts, it is heartbreaking when your lover betrays you when you had her on such a high pedestal! A poem full of deep emotions and sorrow knowing you have to walk away! !

Oh my gosh. What did she do to make you go off her? Could you not let her down more gently. I did enjoy this but if you really loved her, you would see past her faults, (unless she cheated on you, but your poem didn't specify unless you mention that with the line, swallowed my pride out if love') keep writing! : -)

If it is a pain parting from her and if she is true to the words uttered- ' I love you', why don't you walk into her life once more? A poignant write! !
