I heard the long lost meadowlark today.
I hope the wonderful bird is back to stay.
He was perched at the tippity top of the tree,
Where all nature observers could plainly see.
Musical notes were coming out of his beak,
Inviting everyone to take a peek.
The symphony he sang was therapy to my soul,
A wonderful sound to hear when you're out for a stroll.
Reminds me of my childhood. My favorite bird song of all that I was familiar with. Haven't heard one for years.
Since I wrote this poem I have heard several more on hikes. They are special experiences.
I don't think I've ever heard one sing (Just seen one on the Globetrotters) The sounds and sights of nature are among the few things that bring me joy
Singing Globetrotters would be unique. Yes getting out in nature can be therapy. I try to get out often enough that I don't need any other kind.
Very funny, Kelly. I also remember the basketball player on the Harlem Globetrotters whose name was Meadowlark Lemon. Only you would have come up with a comment like that.
Musical notes which are coming from such one wonderful poem pleases mind definitely. Very interesting poem is shared on really...10
Thank you much. This kind of encounter is a natural thing to write a poem about. The poem then preserves the memory.

I would like to translate this poem
Nice poem! I haven't heard a meadowlark for years! Used to love to hear him sing: Annabell is a pretty little town.
Thank you. I don't think I know that tune. The ones around here have a better song than the ones where I grew up.
