Me At 78

Rating: 5.0

POETSINTERNATIONALLY have agreed with me
You may only at least read

Aging is lovely
We all have to as must
age with age

grey sideburns remain
head is either white
or
mirror bald

dentures some don
some love
being toothless

as they say
child and an old man are akin

the kid drinks from a nipple bottle
so does an old guy too
maybe now its Scotch whiskey
no more nipples- sans teeth

age along with me will you
sans life... sans taste... sans heart throbs... heart still beats... sans the love
'twas once a treat
now everything is a retreat

OLD AGE NONE CAN BEAT
KING nor QUEEN
LORD in between
we have many seen

Aged, decrepit
yet tall smart and clean-may
not have bathed-
but do apply flavored
sweet smelling balm cream
and
still love to eat
ICE CREAM

as we Canadians love it
chocolate mostly!

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Geeta Radhakrishna Menon 04 December 2018

If everything on this earth changes with time, so does age. I feel every part of life has a significant point. Let us age with grace and be happy. I loved the last line. Still love to eat an ice cream! That's the spirit. I too love an ice cream, dear Me poet Yep. :) .........10
