After six months this poem is selected again as POD; great - beautiful short tribute poem

'your steps are echo-makers' - this short sentence is a tribute enough to measure the quality of the late Mayor. Heartiest congratulations, posthumously, to the late poetess on her poem’s selection as the ‘Modern Poem of the Day’! Thanks to Sylvia Frances Chan for introducing briefly, the late Mayor to us, mentioning his tenure as a Mayor and the place of the people he served.

Not Knowing anything of the person in question, I can`t judge the merit of this poem, though the subject seems to have been remarkable.

CONGRATULATIONS to the family of the late great Poetess Gwendolyn Brooks. A true magnificent Tribut from the great Poetess. Yes, Mayor Harold Washington can never be forgotten! He was the first African American mayor. IMAGINE what that means! Amazing! !

Mayor H.Washington was an American lawyer and politician who was the 51st Mayor of Chicago. Washington became the first African American to be elected as the city's mayor in April 1983 after a coalition of Black-brown unity supported his election. He served as mayor from April 29,1983 until his death on November 25,1987 Excellent Tribute of the great Poetess about the first black mayor in the USA history. This is truly amazing!

Truly a heartfelt tribute to Mayor Harold Washington, a lawyer and politician- who remained a powerful voice against racial discrimination in the Unites States of America. Thanks.
