May The Angels Watch Over You
May the Angels watch over you,
let them guard you and keep you.
May they be for you a guiding light,
may they watch over you tonight.
Hear their wings all shimmering,
and listen to their voices all singing.
May they sing o'er your bed the sweetest lullaby,
and watch over you where you lie.
May you never be afraid tonight,
but sleep in dreams soft and slight.
May you rest in easy slumber,
as the Angels watch and sing unnumbered.
You are safe and guarded fast,
sleep in lovely dreams at last.
May the Angels watch over you,
until morning breaks and the shadows are few.
What a sweet lullaby! It makes me think of the sort of songs my sisters sing! Thank you for sharing this pure hymn of peaceful sleep! Loved this poem!
