Masthead Poem by Patrick Fealy

Masthead

And so once He slumbered eternal
In night's raging raucuss He slept
Like a babe in the manger He murmered
were all of His sweet dreams were kept
asleep on the vastness of oceans
High seas near the masthead of time
In wave wind and weather
My Word Oh how clever
The author of water reclined
Where is your faith He once chided
What calls for this fear of the brine
The seas gave Him homage
The winds then were calmed
when He told them all firmly to mind
From boundless endevor they fasted
while nature's own furry declined
That break in the weather
made me feel so much better
that night when my faith was so blind
