Martyr Poem by Varghese J Kuttikat

Martyr

Who holds on to hope
Despite getting thrown into pain and peril unendurable
Who is sure of Morning radiant
Blossoming forth even in the darkest dark
Who confidently contemplates
How to sing about and dance around even in densest pitch-black
Who thunders out militantly
Against subterranean stirrings murderous
Is the true martyr,
The privileged inheritor of the Kingdom of Heaven
