I had a college professor who said 'Marriage is a wonderful institution, but who wants to live in an institution? ' Actually, I do. My wife and I have been married for almost 56 years.

Most of the people get disillusioned with marriage pretty quickly. Sad reality!

He should have talked to Bri Edwards for advice. Bri has only been married four times, and I think he has been with his latest wife for almost fifteen years.

I DO think it is great for a mate to want contentment/happiness for her/his partner, but not at the expense of her/his contentment. I like the 'philosophy' here at the ending, and was pleasantly pleased and a bit amused. Good show! bri ;)

I don't haven't considered myself (in any of my four marriages) to be 'happy', but that doesn't bother me as long as I'm relatively 'contented'. I'm NOT unhappy (as a rule) .

Hank, I'd at least break this up into two or three stanzas to make it more poem-like. Otherwise, it's great and I give four stars. : )
