Marginalization Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Marginalization

Rating: 5.0

The upper hierarchy of the military
Para-military and political say
Is an abomination
To a select people

The leadership of juicy parastatals
Is a mango hung on a tree
For a dwarf forbidden to climb or hurl a stone

If only our hides were not distinguishable
The patronage of public utilities
Would have differed from what obtains

So special grants compulsory to the right
Is inaccessible to the left of same man
In a nation assumed unified

And the sin mortal
Labelled unforgettable crime
That made a name a taboo
Is a defensive confrontation
To save our heads.
