well penned dear poet...however one thing amazed me and that is the title itself. in fact the title depict the image of a man and a snake as one- the man-snake alike which on literary genre it seems a combinations of being and character: man- as the being, snake as associated to wisdom and wit.

fear and stupidity seem to walk hand in hand. first the man takes his stand and makes the snake turn and run but then the snake uses his stupidity and turns to face a larger agressor and in turn makes the larger agressor turn and run. stupidity made them stay, and fear made them run. (this is my own view) just like INDIRA said 'who's afraid of who? a good write and a brain teaser. a ten

my friend, I have apposing thumbs, and am not so afraid of snakes that the snake would not be my next meal! The snake has the right to be, but when the snake poses a threat to man the snake will loose every time. thanks for the ponder, and well penned 10+++

I think you know tamil. 'Pambu enral padaiyum nadungum' is the proverb for which the poem has given a definition. Nice capturing of the scene.
