Man's Divergent Loyalty Poem by Tony Adah

Man's Divergent Loyalty

When the gods in anger be
For man's divergent loyalty
And the fetish groves dry up like
A stream out of season, the guardian's
Bumper harvest hoards and famine's
Planted in the land.
Then even a withered cocoyam's leaf rim
Can gash open his shin.
