Mbrame vone,teper vone,
Athere kur nuk pritnja as dhe nje trokitje te vetme
Ne oborr degjova nje rrapullime shurdhuese.
Pa arrogance, por dhe pa ndonje miresjellje
Hyne drejt e ne shtepi.
Malet. Shkunden ne pragun e shtepise deboren,
Ashtu siç shkundim palltot kut hyjme nga jashte
Ne nje dite stuhie.
Te heshtur e te mençur.Pa shkembyer as dhe nje fjale
Me dhane te kuptoja se kishin bere rruge te gjate.
Ca perrenj kercenin nga prehri i tyre,
Kapriçioze dhe njeheresh te ndrojtur,
Ashtu siç jane niperit ne pranine e gjysherve.
Dy-tre ujq i uluriten llampes se dhomes
- konfuzion i natyrshem me hanen - .
Nje ortek m'u afrua per ta perdore si nenkrejse,
Ndersa kaprojt filluan te ndjekin ne TV
Lajmet ma te fundit me te vraret dhe bursen.
Ne mengjez heret, si te thuash, me gjelat e pare,
Iken.Pa thene lamtumire, madje pa kthyer koken pas.
Kur femijet u kthyen nga shkolla,
I pashe nga dritarja tek luanin per here te pare me gure,
Tek perpiqeshin te benin ca mure te shtrember qe gjithsesi nuk rrezoheshin.
2. A few torrents tumbled down their laps, Capricious and yet shy, Like tykes in awe of their grandfathers, A few wolves howled at the lampshade - mistaken of course for the moon - A plummeting avalanche was proffered as a pillow As mountain goats knelt to watch The news, with myriad murders and money markets.
3. Early one morning, at the 's crow, if you will, They departed, without a farewell, without a backward glance. When the children returned from school I watched them from my window as they played with stones for the first time, Trying to construct some crooked walls that could never collapse. 1. Mountains Late last night, Not expecting a single knock, A roaring noise was heard in the yard. Not with arrogance or with courtesy, The Mountains entered my house. On the doorstep they flung off the snow As we shake our coats when rushing in Out of a storm. Silent and wise, without a single word, They made it known that they had come from afar.
