Make Up For Lost Time Poem by Mark. A Heathcote

Make Up For Lost Time

I could weep like a receding tide.
And lose my mind trying not to cry
But I mustn't waver; I must descend
The mountain and make up for lost time

I could wander even longer.
But what would be gained if
I became a stranger even to myself.
Surely, I should hold back a tear.

Surely, I should follow my heart.
It's as wide as an ocean.
It at times evaporates and fills the sky.
I could transcend all these mountains.

If I really tried, I could blow your mind.
I could make a psychedelic rainbow.
And alter your perceptions of me.
And induce mental states in me and you that expand

Surely, I should release my soul.
And flowers for maybe one last time
Surely, I should follow my heart.
It's as wide as an ocean.

And make up for lost time.
But will you still be mine?
