Make Me Full Again Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Make Me Full Again

Rating: 5.0

I searched diligently
The researcher's eyes on microscope
Anxiously like a child
His only toy lost
You are wanted BACK home
Love pet gone stray
The absence is mourned death like
The soup is sour constantly
And my neck like the prisoner's
Where I eat fasting a refuge

You are wanted home
The room is dumb always
Cold and damp of warmth
A pig's pen like it is
Though I sweep regularly
And the sun constant
Pneumonia is keen to chant my requiem

The bed spread is neat and straight
Good foe hospital décor
Averse to my love taste
It's used to be rumpled every night
Where heavyweights wrestle in love
Both emerge victors
And the bout rescheduled

Please come back home
Give my neck weight
Heat and noise my walls
Let writhing crumble the sheet again
The bed quake to my delight
And make me full again.
