Enjoyed your poem to which I add:
Meadow muffins are everywhere
Turn them over if you dare,
For inside you'll find
A sight that blows the mind.
Those greedy worms of which you write
Are feasting in pure delight
And soon will be full blown
And take a different shape from what we've known.
They'll fly away
To another muffin that very day
And lay their eggs by daylight
So that they'll hatch in the night,
Then the second generation will emerge
As you've written in your dirge,
To renew nature's way
In their short, life-giving way.
