Lyman and Lloyd. Lyman and Lloyd.
I say their names and feel a void.
They were my best friends growing up.
Lloyd had a cat, Lyman a pup.
Lloyd went to London, and they say
taught many people how to pray,
but Lyman Spanish did pursue
while on his mission to Peru.
We all did marry, grew apart,
yet they're still there within my heart.
I would see them, should things allow.
Where are they now? Where are they now?
again! where ARE they now? i could say that about a lot of people, some being friends, but mostly not. not enemies either! BRI :)
Got a chuckle out of the portrait of Lyman and Lloyd (Lawyer's firm?) A fine example of a free flowing verse a full ten if ever deserved. ta Kim Where were you guys brought up? You all fled to distant countries.
Wes, we were raised in Annabella, Utah, USA. We didn't 'flee'. We served missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Lloyd went to England, Lyman to Peru, and I went to Brazil. We all came back, but life split us up later.
i thought Lloyd ran an insurance office. different Lloyd, or did praying and insurance mix well? they look like a couple of crafty critters. bri :)
Nice description of friendship of two friends. Wonderful one.

I would like to translate this poem
I ran into Lloyd at the funeral of Rex Dunn, the one who saved my life back in the day. How Lloyd has changed! (See 'The Day Rex Saved My Life')
I guess I have changed, too, because Lloyd didn't recognize me, either, He heard me introduce myself to someone else.
