Lucky You

Rating: 5.0

flowers blooming
insects humming
nature showing off her wares
days of summer getting shorter
making us forget our cares
yellow roses
little kittens
out behind the big red barn
neighing horses
goats are climbing
eating laundry, gloves and yarn
simple pleasures
tasting peaches
always is a special treat
cows are mooing
rooster crowing
over here, something to eat
sheep are bleating
turkeys eating
incessantly; that's why they're fat
chickens pecking
pigs just resting
oh, I have to envy that
every time I think back on the farm
my mind can't help recall the charm

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
9 sep 2018 I tried to write this as free verse but I couldn't do it; the rhyme kept creeping in. I guess I've got some kind of curse; once more I just blew it; I cannot seem to win. Update 28 Dec 2019... The current contest always is introduced by a 'poem'; with the title Lucky You, but at the time this was originally posted, the May 2017 contest was still going on, so this one had the title Você Tem Sorte, which means roughly the same thing in Portuguese. I guess nobody caught on (or nobody cared) , because nobody has tried to solve it (at least nobody has made any guesses) .Now that Linda Bella Wassermeister has solved the May 2017 contest, I am changing the title of this to Lucky You so that it will be easier to find. Hey, lucky you! You have now found the September 2018 Contest, first posted 9 September 2018! It is worth $100 if you qualify, and GLORY if you don't qualify for the cash. See Contest Rules to see if you qualify.
COMMENTS OF THE POEM

I admire rhyme and this has an awesome rhyme scheme and the delights of nature and farmsteads brought forth so poetically and fantastic that our poetic senses are left enthusing. Kudos and I will take the lil pain to vote for this sweet beauty. A ten. Kudos. Soo nice to read from your inking again, Pleez do write your thoughts/comment under my newest poem too titled, a tribute to every new poem
