LONG SILENT NIGHT

Lonely moments are a rare treat
One gets to talk to himself in silence
No one around to shatter your peace
Good to see the cold winter gone
Summer is here with me as promised
I spend the day in the company of the sun
Long shadows my only company
Enveloped in a cocoon of private thoughts
No one at home except my dog and cat
The wife and grown kids gone visiting
Now the sun is bidding me good night
In comes a more intimate silence
Good for searching the soul alone
High on my mind is to write a poem
The poem about a Long Silent Night.
