Loving Him Poem by Lacie Hebert

Loving Him

Rating: 5.0

In love with a married man, my heart does ache,
For a love that could never truly be mine to take.
His smile, his touch, they make my soul ignite,
But I know deep down it's not meant to be right.

His eyes, they hold secrets
and untold tales,
Of a life he has built, with vows he can't fail.
I see the longing in his gaze when he looks at me,
But I know we can never truly be free.

His laughter, his jokes, they light up my day,
But I know I must keep my feelings at bay.
For he belongs to another, to a love that's true,
And I must accept that we can never be two.

In love with a married man, a forbidden desire,
That sets my heart and soul on fire.
But I know I must let him go, let him be,
For his happiness lies in his family.

I will cherish the moments we shared, the memories we made.
And I will hold them close, in my heart they will never fade.
But I must move on, find love that's meant for me,
And let go of the fantasy of what could never be.

In love with a married man, my heart may be broken.
But I will heal, I will find a love that's unspoken.
For love is a journey,
a winding road.
And I know in time, I will find my own true love to hold.

The dilemma, the intrigue of being in love with a ‘married man' is brought out convincingly and emphatically. Beautifully rendered. Top score.
