Loving A Politician Poem by Randy McClave

Loving A Politician

There was a coming war
It was knocking at the front door,
Politics was in control
Which burned the very soul.

It was father against dad
At each other they were upset and mad,
And it was brother against brother
They now hated each other.

Siblings turned each other in
So, that their politicians would easily win,
They were defending politicians that they never even knew
Their siblings blood they did spew.

They believed all the speeches that politicians said
To a rebellion soon they would all be led,
They believed the politicians and all their lies
Whom they believed was Gods prize.

To their following they swore their life
They placed it above their siblings and children and wife,
They gave the politicians all that they wanted and needed
Included their pennies after they pleaded.

Whether it be known wrong or right
In a war or conflict my family I would never fight,
I could never harm them or shed their blood
They were my very first love.

A politician is just a stranger
He doesn't know or care who you are from any danger,
He doesn't even care to know your name
But, you love him more than family, such a shame.

Cain killed his brother Abel
Because, he brought a greater gift to the Lord's table,
Sadly, I became my own brother's enemy
Then my own brother for his belief, killed me.
