Lovers Embrace Poem by Marama Kelly

Lovers Embrace

Upon the golden rays of love
I found my true heart's desire
under the glistening, sparkling stars
so radiantly glowing and refined

The watery darkness that the ocean showed
gave way to hues of deep blue
with slivers of purple and green instilled
escaping for the release

The gentle warmth of the wind's soft breeze
wrapped around the silhoutted form
and the moon shone down its shiny glow
to ravage the darkness's depths

The soft wet skin did glimmer and shine
as the rays of luna fell
and in its embrace the form took shape
of a beauty of heavenly grace

So sleek, so slender, so elegantly poised
she rose up high to the sky
never was there such a glorious sight
as a woman held under such regal light

The eyes beheld a wondrous sight
as passions rose in wanton desire
and with a whisper and deep embrace
together we joined and fuelled the fire

Our mouths did touch, our bodies did too
entwined under luna's glowing gaze
and shooting stars fell from the sky
as lust of love took its shape

The waters stirred and the wind did blow
as we reached the peak designed
and as we fell into the sand
our breaths gave way to desire

So much warmth and passion was felt
amidst God's nature once dreamt
as two together joined completely as one
did love so freely descend
