Love's Wanderer Poem by Colin Ian Jeffery

Love's Wanderer

From birth to death
Walking to journey's end
Seeking reasons
Why the heart seeks love
Body crumples to death's destruction?

As a child there was no fear
Nor contemplating journey's end
Thinking life was immortal
Running free and chasing the wind
Learning how to be an adult.

Finding the ecstasy of sex
No longer innocent
Addicted to orgasmic pleasures
With lover after lover
Memories thrilling to the mind.

In old age still travelling on
Frail, but steps much slower now
Mind clear as crystal
Alone, and full of remorse
For all those bad choices made.
