Love Or Fool's Crown Poem by bonifacio alba

Love Or Fool's Crown

Love or Fool's Crown

You see the shadows in their eyes,
The truth concealed in woven lies,
You know the whispers, sharp and cold,
Yet hold the hand you used to hold.

Is it love that keeps you still,
Or chains of habit, iron will?
You tell yourself, "For the children's sake, "
And hide the cracks you dare not break.

Is this wisdom, patient, kind?
Or blindness cloaked to soothe the mind?
A martyr's grace, or a fool's disguise—
Only the heart can name the prize.

For love can heal, but lies can rot,
And children learn from what they're taught;
So weigh the cost, both deep and wide—
Is peace within, or pain inside?
