Love Letter Poem by Kimberly Lindsey

My love, my love,
How could I have ever lived with out you?
My life is wonderful, because you are in it.
I was afraid to trust, I was afraid to love.
I was afraid to let you in my heart, and be loved.
I am so grateful that you were persistent,
I tried so hard to push you away…. I was so very afraid.
You did not give up; you were patient and wise;
You waited in silence, until I could deal with my emotions.
Even though I pushed you away, again and again…
You never gave up, just said; “I love you, still.”
You finally got through, that barrier I had constructed;
The one I thought would keep me safe, from ever hurting again.
But I was wrong, oh so wrong!
Keeping the barrier in place, and struggling and fighting,
Hurt me more in the long run, because I almost lost you.
And nothing is worth that, I love you so much!
And I all I can think about is how much I love you!
How much I miss you, when we are apart.
When I think of what I almost lost, it is overwhelming….
You are my heart…. My lover….. My friend…..
You are everything I want, and some things I never dreamed of.
I never thought I would be this happy, this in love, ever…
But you showed me your heart, and what you are made of,
And I love you with all of my heart.
The past is just that, the past. It is gone, and buried.
You are my future, the man I want, to be my husband.
We still have much to learn, about the process of getting old,
But as long as we do it together, it will be just fine!
I am so sorry, I hurt you. I was eaten up inside with fear, and when the barrier began to fail, and you began to get too close, or I began to feel too much…
I would panic. I was fighting a battle inside myself, with and against myself…
But we won, you and I. We did it! I honestly believe that there will be, no more moments.
The fear, and uncertainty have gone away. You my love, are my mate.
For now through eternity. I will love you until the day we part this earth, and on into eternity. I can not wait, to become your wife. The day we wed…. will be beautiful, no matter the day, or time. God has us brought back together, we are blessed, my love.
And let me say, just one more time, I love you. With all of my heart. With all of my soul.
I want you. I want you to love me, and to let me love you. I want you…with every beat of my heart. I want you….. for the rest of our lives. I love you.
