Love Lesson Poem by Olawale Oluwole

Love Lesson

Rating: 5.0

Love hath taught me well, and bade me pay the price;
It wrought a man of me, untouched by heart's device.
Love, like a rainbow, bends in gentle grace,
And I, in reverence, bow before its face.

Its colors linger high o'er roof and sky,
A vision bright that time may not belie.
Though hours flee swift upon their fleeting way,
My love for thee shall never fade away.

O weather, hark! Restrain thy bitter chill,
That makes my soul to wander ‘gainst my will.
Thy beauty stands — it stirs my heart's own pace,
And lights within my breast a steadfast grace.

No doubt I know, for angel art thou found,
Whose presence makes my joy abound.
Mine eyes, once restless, now in calmness stay,
For in thy light, my heart hath found its way.

Thou art the truest gift life's given me,
And so, I bow — in love's sweet dignity.
