At a dim-lit dining table I sat
Alone, but a lone red rose in vase, stood
My mind's lost sojourn, she read
Confused and searching, my unusual mood

It is always satisfying to read a poem based on one's philosophy of a successful and purposeful life. Loved reading musings on love. Thank you, Paul.
How fascinating is the mind of poets! You have done an absolutely brilliant job with the rose as your alter ego! If you don't mind, I offer you this rose: Love Is A Rose Love is a rose That never dies When it's conditional It's quite dull and mortal When unconditional Totally immortal Paul, I invite you to read my poetry and comment/rate. Thank you.
Wow! What a magnificent lesson on love for those who strive to die over love. Last stanza comprehends all the essence in what it ought to be. Many thanks for the wonderful write on a theme closest to the heart. X
Hats off to your imagination... As rose is the symbol of love, you selected the same, to describe about love and how it can change a human being while that very person is going through it. Your narration is incredible....10/10
Your spirit and heart as one, emit fragrance Become an attractive flower, A lovely write.
Mesmerising lines, unique poem, love is to let live, melting for others, real pleasure to read, thanks poet
Thank you so much for your appreciation. If only people could think that love is what one gives and not what could get....
If only people in love could think of giving rather than what one could get....
Thank you Ency. You are encouraging and affirming. Am glad you liked the poem.
Wow- - - a stunningly beautiful write ! This poem on rose as love is so unique with sweet fragrance.
Thank you Bararati, the rose speaks many messages of life and love, if only we care to reflect.
Thank you Nisha. Indeed, what is love if it not giving and sacrificing. It is other centred not self centred.
Thank you Nisha! What is love if it is not giving and sacrificing? It is other-centred not self-centred.
Came back to read this poem once again and still I say - Wow! This poem is totally awesome! ! Loved every word of it, so simply profound and deep! I'm sure to read it again in the future, it's made quite an impact on my mind! RoseAnn
a very touching poem and giving without asking is the ultimate love thanks Paul-10
Love indeed is all about sacrefice. Well done my friend.
So creative in choosing of words and very flowing on rhythm
Wow! An amazing poem! Absolutely loved reading it, you have written about love in a unique fashion. A red rose is a sign of love, therefore it is fitting that it would give advice - giving all you have for another is the greatest sacrifice anyone can make. Even a beautiful rose has thorns, the same goes for love also. Your poem is scented with the essence of the rose. Thank you for sharing. RoseAnn
What a poem! Learning ethics from a rose? I take it, as the poet's heart is a rose, and the poet learns how to have more fragrance and colors to become more beautiful. A great poem..................10
Beautiful write! I just love it! The rose's counsel at the end is so edifying! Yes, without sacrifice, love cannot flourish! One has to sacrifice one's self in making love complete!
Love is a choice of offering A voluntarily self-sacrificing Patiently, an unselfish giving There's no greater love than this: To lay down one's life for a fellow friend! .....good thought on love
