Indeed love is not a joke. Love is a spiritual experience that affects anyone who is lucky to find it profoundly, Anything spiritual can hardly be a joke. It is the highest level of human experience. The measure of civilized behaviour is compassion and love. I like the articulation of the poem as it captured the essence of love and the poet's convictions.
