Love can be work and at times the heart feels bounced all over the place like it can be in life...

Love is the steel ball bearing inside life's pinball machine.

part 1 Hello Susan and thanks for sharing another Gem with us this poem is very distinguish, here the poet by purpose used some symbols, imagery and metaphors for Love I have never seen any other poet using them before, here the great poet has created a unique atmosphere made out of hard materials (such as rock, steel, slung ball, rail, machine...etc)

part 2 / ) but there are some thing soft inside them, there are many ways for understanding and interpreting this lovely poem, the reader might ask: does the love in the metallic and technology era will end up with these iron feelings? this is very creative poetic idea..excellent Susan..it needs a big discussion and talk..10/10 and into my treasure chest ***

Mj Lemon- - the reply box is not working so here I am replying to you in the comment box. Never say die, I say, You know your pinball games, sir! ! ! ! Perhaps you will put that recreation to a poem sometime- I think yours would surpass mine in a heartbeat- -unless I pull the plug on yours! ! !

The pinball metaphor is genius! You get at least three plays. Sometimes there are several balls 'bearing inside' the game. Sometimes we take the eyes off the ball and focus on the bonus- -leading to great results, or sometimes disasters. This gem works as either comedy or tragedy. A perfect 10...and to myfavourites.

Love is the central force that keeps life oscillating from one point to the other. Without love, life becomes stagnant. It is powerful as a steel ball that helps us earn points to win the game of life. It is a ball that helps us keep the play on in the pinball game of life. You have made use of a powerful metaphor to drive your point home.

Again you have turned loose that magnificent brain of yours to examine a piece of my writing. I am very humbled by the amount of time you spend on the examination of other writers' poems. You are an invaluable asset to PH.

Love at times seems to bump its way through life. When it hits one is completely smitten and bowled over. A very clever metaphor combining the softness and motion of love with the randomness of a catapulting ball bearing. Insert another quarter please.

This poem finds comparisons that are unique if out of the way, and offers something that a rare poet would say. Here is a poet self made who something her own has said. Brilliant.
