Love Denied Poem by michael Smajda

Love Denied

I pretend every night
The pillow beneath my head
Is you I am cuddling
Throughout the night, instead.

Then, I wake up in the morn
Finding you not by my side
But a ruffled down pillow,
Another night of love denied.
