Love Bittersweet Sting Poem by Moffat Thepoet

Love Bittersweet Sting

Love, a force so strong and true, Can turn on us like a bee's sting, too. At first, it's sweet like honey's taste, But then it ends in tears and waste.

What did I do to make you go? Yesterday, our love was aglow. We vowed to grow old side by side, Forever, you and I, with pride.

Now, my heart is shattered, torn, My lips ache for your kisses, forlorn. I wish we never met, and yet, I'm grateful for the memories we set.

I paid your rent, took you out each week, But now, suicidal thoughts seem less bleak Than you, who once were close to me, But now, love's unfairness I clearly see.

Fairy tales promise happy ever after, But in reality, it's rare to capture A love that lasts, a love that's true, Without the bittersweet sting, too.

Just a few years ago, I confessed my love, And you, too, said you felt the same, above All else. But now, we're torn apart, And love's bittersweet sting pierces my heart.
