Hi Agatha, The name of the poem suggested it to be a simple poem on love and relationships. But, you have astonished me with an extremely serious philosophical poem, true to your write-I should have expected that. The remnants of your memory /swing back and forth /through/the clouds of smoke.... Not a nice way to open a love song.. But then, it is no love song at all.. rhymes and rhythm /blending with/the cold ripples swirling/on the surface/of a brittle wine glass/half empty.. The abstract images flowing one after the other conjure up an emotional upheaval, so hard to decipher. The poet affected by/the absence of love is forever haunted /by the lipstick stains left/on the empty wine glass/left on the other table.. Remarkable stream of images to bring out the haunting feelings and emotions of the failed love affair. Here ends counterfeit poet, who is a taxidermist, who inspires life/to emerge/from dead... glassy eyes..et al. He can sew wings to any creature/that needs to be alive. By night/he becomes a creator/by day/another spectator/watching the whole theater/of living.. Carefully chosen images, expressed in words that disappear in the wholesome poetry. Exquisitely crafted poem.. Loved reading. But, may need the poet's help to understand it fully. Would come back for a re.10++
