the garden is still beautiful......still it is a beautiful world. Appreciated the entreaty reflected in the last three lines, 'Your love is the shade of trees/Don't prune the branches, dear/I want to be happy sans fear. Top score!
Every Rubaiyat can read read individually but you have put them collectively to make a beautiful series of love and life....like each pearl neatly put together in a necklace. You have carefully evaluated the changes in the life and love under the influence of nature and surroundings over a period of time/ with the passage of time.....Simply superb Rubaiyats.100+++++
Nosheen, this is a wonderful poem (it's really five poems unified by the Rubaiyat format) . You have created a poetic language and poetic hopes that are universal, this poem could speak to people in the medieval world as well as our modern world, because you have revealed what is lasting in humanity. The first one is a quiet recognition of the troubles of human life but it doesn't overshadow our appreciation of life. The second one is a paen to love and how it raises us above petty complaints. The third is my favorite! ! Those opening two lines are so wonderful! They capture the truth of the metaphor that life is a journey and suggest the wide open spaces of our life journey. This is just splendid! ! I'm making a copy to put with my Sufi-inspired poems.
Thanku so much Daniel for such encouraging remarks. Wowww. i'm ecstatic that you are making a copy. That's such a huge compliment.
I am not able to comment. I read Khayyam long back. Hardly remember anything of it. As your poem was named Rubaiyat, I thought so.. That's all.
hi Nosheen, Beautiful poems on love and life. Fantastic observations with deep insight into the ways of life. The poet has her eyes wide open to the world around her. I have read a part of Rubaiyat by Omar Khayyam, translated in English long back. Nosheen, are these poems of Khayyam, by any chance?
Love and life woven in such beautiful Rubaiyats. Every Rubai holds key to life, Rejoicing, questioning and dancing to the tune of life. Lovely and amazing. Keep sharing your beautiful thoughts. A perfect 10.
Life has been the same in its fundamental ways since the beginning of recorded history
