Love And Hate Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Love And Hate

Human vocabulary
Not basic and vital
Not enough or adequate
To articulate the feelings
Feelings of love or hate
I could grasp late, long after
From animals, watching while
Herds of oxen, cows and calves
Buffalos, goats, sheep and dogs
Using their tongues not to speak
But, to lick each other in love.

Like others, I too mistook it
For an itching safe guard
But, soon realised-
A great sense and meaning
When, learnt their body language
Revealing, kiss-and-tell sensational
Profound and true love for each other
And feelings for peaceful coexistence.

A language ever existing in nature
Never ever taught and learnt
In any school or university
Or through any formal institute
Must, I teach on this Teacher's Day.

A perfect language of love, at first sight
Under the law of natural instincts
Of attraction and repulsion
Born as, twin brothers love and hate.
