Lost In The Woods Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

Lost In The Woods

Rating: 5.0

The green walls rise, a silent, leafy maze,
Where sunlight fails and shadows softly graze.
The path, once clear, now vanished from my sight,
Lost in the woods when day dissolves to night.

The trees stand tall like sentinels of old,
Their branches weave, a story to unfold.
A rustling breeze, a whisper in the ear,
Of ancient fears that banish hope and cheer.

The mossy floor, a carpet soft and deep,
Where secrets pour and hidden creatures sleep.
No guiding star, no compass to obey,
Just tangled paths that lead me far astray.

The twilight falls, a veil of purple hue,
The forest calls, a haunting, chilling view.
A sense of dread, a lonely, hollow sound,
As darkness spreads, and I am earthbound.

Yet in the heart, a flicker still remains,
A stubborn art that conquers all the pains.
To find the way through shadows thick and dense,
And greet the day with newfound confidence.
